About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating & Financial Officer (COO/CFO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's growth and leadership transition. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial strategy and operational infrastructure, including financial planning, budgeting, investment strategy, and risk management. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team and guiding them through a strategic roadmap, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and accountable culture. The COO/CFO will also be a key partner to the Executive Director and the Board, providing financial expertise and analysis, and ensuring that the organization's systems and resources are aligned with its mission of advancing health equity for low-income and underserved communities. Candidates for the COO/CFO position at the company should have at least 10 years' of progressive financial and operational leadership experience, preferably within a multi-million-dollar nonprofit or similarly complex, mission-driven organization. A strong background in nonprofit accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance is essential. The role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in strengthening operational infrastructure and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to team leadership, be adept at mentoring staff, and have the ability to balance competing demands while promoting a culture of collaboration and belonging. Experience in health policy, health law, or a related advocacy environment is helpful but not required.
