Summer 2027 MBA Internship - Strategy and Operations

This immersive experience allows students to contribute to meaningful, enterprise-level work across a range of business functions, engage with executive leaders, and develop the skills and perspective needed for a successful healthcare career after graduation.

MBA Strategy & Operations Internship opportunities are available across several strategic areas, including: CenterWell Pharmacy – Business Development CenterWell Pharmacy Hub Team CenterWell Pharmacy Operations Consumer Product Enablement & Solutions Corporate Strategy Insurance Product Solutions Pharmacy Business Integration Pharmacy Product Management Provider Network Operations – Humana Military Sales Strategy Transformation Office Value-Based Care Enablement Strategy Across these strategic areas, interns help translate priorities into action through strategic planning, business case development, cross-functional coordination, process improvement, portfolio execution, and transformation support. Interns may contribute to initiatives that improve efficiency and deliver greater value while supporting enterprise goals, governance, and continuous improvement. Location and work arrangement

: This is a 12-week, in-person internship based primarily at Humana’s headquarters in Louisville, KY, with limited opportunities in Arlington, VA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Nashville, TN; and New York, NY. Interns should expect to work in the office three to four days per week, depending on leader and team needs. Remote opportunities are not available. Please note: Candidates who receive a full-time offer after the internship will be required to work in or relocate to one of the locations listed above.

Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or another advanced professional degree program, such as an MPH, MD, JD, or PhD, with an expected graduation date in spring or summer 2028 Available to work full time, 40 hours per week, throughout the Summer 2027 program from May 24, 2027, through August 13, 2027. Must be willing to work in-person 3-4 days per week for the duration of the internship in either Louisville, KY; Arlington, VA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Nashville, TN; and New York, NY. Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States either now or in the future Minimum of three years of professional experience completed before beginning graduate school Demonstrated leadership through professional, academic, military, or extracurricular experiences, with a record of guiding teams, advancing cross-functional initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and delivering measurable results in a dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications: Healthcare and Business Acumen:

Demonstrated interest in the evolving healthcare landscape, including payer, provider, pharmacy, primary care, value-based care, consumer experience, or adjacent healthcare services, with the ability to connect industry dynamics to enterprise priorities and growth opportunities. Strategic, Financial, and Analytical Problem-Solving:

Ability to structure ambiguous problems, evaluate market, financial, operational, clinical, and consumer information, and translate insights into data-informed recommendations, business cases, and implementation priorities. Execution and Learning Agility:

Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, create structure, prioritize effectively, adapt quickly, and advance work with accountability and ownership. Cross-Functional Influence:

Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively and influence stakeholders across clinical, operational, technology, finance, and business teams. Executive Communication:

Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$37,440 - $96,800 per year
