Step into a vital role providing exceptional speech-language support to students within elementary and middle school settings near Placitas, NM. This contract position runs ASAP through May 28th, offering a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You will collaborate closely with educators and families, working with a diverse caseload of 40-50 students, helping them achieve their communication and academic goals.
Ideal candidates are passionate about working with children and possess a strong background in both school-based and pediatric speech-language pathology. Whether you’re an experienced SLP, hold your CCC, or are completing your Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), this opportunity lets you make a daily impact in a supportive educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- New Mexico License in Speech-Language Pathology from the NM Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Board
- New Mexico License issued by the PED Ancillary and Support Services
- Experience or interest in elementary and/or middle school caseloads preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Provide direct therapy and consultative services for a caseload of 40-50 students
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports in line with school and regulatory requirements
