Join to apply for the CCU RN role at CHI Job Summary And Responsibilities As our Cardiac Nurse, you’ll care for patients who may have life‑threatening cardiac events or conditions while helping their families navigate daily care and plan for healing and maintenance outside of the hospital. Your day will vary, as you adapt to evolving patient needs, observing vitals, reporting warning signs early and working with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, EKG techs, and other cardiovascular professionals. Diagnostic and patient monitoring – detection, recognition of acute changes, escalation of concerns/critical results. Administration and monitoring of therapeutic interventions and regimens – starting and maintaining IV therapies, administering medication per patient’s rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown, following safety policies. Effective management of rapidly changing situations – identifying, assessing and anticipating needs. Organization and priority management – coordinating multiple patient needs in a timely manner. Providing a healing environment – patient comfort, respect for human dignity, patient advocacy. Teaching and coaching – assessing patient readiness, explaining conditions and recovery plans. Required Job Requirements Associate of Nursing upon hire. Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire. Basic Life Support – CPR, upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Nursing, upon hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire.
