Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Illinois License Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Understanding of drug-free workplace policies Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit. This unit has a mix of private and semi-private rooms with a total of 37 beds. The nurse will work day shifts with a patient ratio of 1:4-6. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend for both day and night shifts. There is no call requirement, but holiday work may be necessary based on the schedule. The unit does take patients requiring telemetry, but all monitoring is done centrally. Common diagnoses include COPD, sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and surgical cases. Collaboration with hospitalists, APNs, and eClientists is available. Nurses may be required to float to other areas of competency as needed. Self-scheduling is available, but final schedules will be managed by unit leadership. Nurses will receive a floor-specific orientation and hospital training. Daily responsibilities include patient care, medication administration, and patient assessment.
