About the Position

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Petoskey, MI. This hospital-based position includes weekday endoscopy and consultation coverage, along with 24-hour weekend call on Saturdays and Sundays. The physician will join a collaborative team of gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers in a well-supported clinical setting.

Schedule & Details

· Weekday Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM

· Weekend Call: 24-hour call on Saturdays and Sundays

· Weeknight Call: None

· Patient Volume: Approximately 18 outpatients and 20 inpatient scopes per day

· Practice Setting: Hospital-based

· EMR: Cerner

· Support Staff: 2 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers

· Onsite Resources: Laboratory and X-ray services

Responsibilities

· Provide endoscopy services for inpatient and outpatient populations.

· Manage gastroenterology consultations during scheduled coverage hours.

· Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal conditions.

· Perform indicated endoscopic procedures and develop appropriate treatment plans.

· Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage on Saturdays and Sundays.

· Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner.

Requirements

· Board certification in Gastroenterology required

· Active Michigan medical license required

· Current ACLS certification required
