Registered Respiratory Therapist – Pediatric Team – Per Diem Location: Mesa, Arizona Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑4:30 (must be flexible for late clinics) Job Summary: Provide respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients across a variety of health care settings, with a focus on pediatric patients. This is a per‑demand BSS position that may transition to a full‑time role. Core Functions Perform all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners. Apply and manage mechanical ventilators, recommending adjustments to improve clinical condition and expedite weaning. Assemble, disassemble, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, clean, and adjust durable medical equipment in accordance with policies. Perform pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing. Perform patient assessments and evaluate response to care, making recommendations to physicians regarding care plans and therapy adjustments. Document therapy provided accurately and completely in accordance with policy. Communicate and collaborate with resource staff to formulate care plans, recommend changes, and resolve problems. Supervise department staff as needed. Independently provide respiratory care and diagnostic testing across various areas of the health system. Minimum Qualifications Associate or technical degree. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification per NBRC (RRT required for new hires after Oct12015). Current state license as required by state law; Nevada incumbents must have Blood Gas Technologist certification. Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification. Valid driver’s license if working in a home‑care setting. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for Banner Home Care/Hospice positions. One year of clinical experience with respiratory techniques, equipment, and modalities. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
