Radiology Multi-Modality Technologist - Nights

Overview The multi-modality technologist 1 will be competent and credentialed initially in radiography with the credential in CT obtained within one year of hire. The incumbent will be able and willing to flex between modalities as needed. Schedule: 10 hour shifts, Monday‑Thursday shift 9pm‑7am. No weekend rotation. Location: Beloit Clinic. Wage: $35.85‑53.77. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain active status in modalities in which they practice. Assist the department coordinator by providing clinical leadership, completing projects, advanced level clinical duties, and regular assignments as requested. Be competent in all exams performed within assigned modalities. Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist. Prepare the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures. Position patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilize patient as necessary. Practice aseptic technique as necessary. Prepare and administer contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; start and maintain intravenous access. Initiate basic life support action when necessary. Provide patient education. Provide input for supply and equipment decisions, maintain control of inventory and supplies for assigned area. Provide practical instruction for students and partners. Observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers. Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients. Execute other duties, tasks as assigned. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Two to four years of experience as a technologist as a radiographer required. Experience in a hospital environment preferred. Certification and Licensure ARRT registered in radiography required. CT credential required within two years of hire. IEMA‑DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois. WI‑DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin. BLS/CPR required within 90 days of hire. Additional Requirements Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Ability to follow written or oral instructions. Skills and Abilities Experience working with radiologic technologists, radiologists, and support staff in a multimodality department. Proficiency in mentoring employees and providing corrective action appropriately. Experience in obtaining departmental accreditation. Ability to communicate in a friendly and effective manner. Demonstrated ability to foster excellent teamwork in a radiology department. Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently. Read/comprehend written and verbal instructions. Basic PC skills. Manage stress appropriately. Make decisions under pressure and handle multiple priorities. Manage anger/fear/hostility/violence of others appropriately. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
