Equipment Operator IIThe Equipment Operator II is responsible for safely operating and maintaining heavy machinery on various job sites. This role supports the completion of field projects by executing tasks in alignment with engineered plans, conducting routine equipment inspections, and adhering to all safety protocols. As such the following values guide our behaviors: A Servant's Heart -- Focus on the Needs of Others, Wisdom -- Insightful, Integrity -- Honesty and Trustworthy, Courage -- Decisive and Confident in Others, Humility -- Modest and Respectful, Passion -- Unfailing DedicationEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation & Site Support:Safely operate heavy construction equipment such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, earth movers, and other related machinery per project needsPerform work in accordance with engineered plans and instructions provided by Foreman and SupervisorsManeuver equipment with precision to avoid damage to property and ensure worker safetyRespond to signals and directions from other operators and work collaboratively with field personnel to complete assignments effectivelyMaintenance & Inspections:Conduct daily inspections of equipment, checking fuel, oil, fluid levels, and ensuring equipment is in proper working condition before usePerform routine maintenance and safety checks; notify management or technicians of major repairs neededMaintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure all tools and machinery are secure when not in useCommunication & Reporting:Maintain clear communication with field supervisors and Foremen to ensure tasks are understood and completed on scheduleComplete documentation as required and report equipment issues or delays promptlySafety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.Qualifications and RequirementsHigh School Diploma (or equivalent) requiredHeavy equipment operation experience requiredCDL License preferredExperience, Skills and AbilitiesPositive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiableAbility to maintain a consistent workload that involves moderate manual labor in outdoor environmentsAbility to accurately multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to maintain a high degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to self and others.Strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong planning and organizational skillsPhysical RequirementsTravel to various construction sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk. Other requirements may include the ability to kneel, crawl, bend, climb ladders, aerial lifts, and cat walks and be able to work in restricted areasAbility to maintain a consistent workload that may involve significant physical manual labor.
