Pharmacy Manager

Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM. Pharmacy will close for lunch 12:30PM-1:00PM. On-site parking available.

Primary Role: Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to-day pharmacy responsibilities. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions:

• Review and execute provider's prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
• Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
• Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
• Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
• Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
• Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
• Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
• Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
• Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues
• Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations
• Other duties as necessary

Requirements

Required Education & Skills:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Current License to practice (PharmD) in Illinois
• Excellent oral, written skills

Experience:

• Must have previous experience working within retail pharmacy environment
• Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
• Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience

• Standing for prolonged periods of time
• Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Fine motor skills
• Skills and certifications: min. 3-5 years retail pharmacy management experience. Great leadership, communication and management skills
