Respiratory Therapist

Overview

We are seeking aRespiratory Therapist (RT), Certified (CRT) or Registered (RRT), internally referred to as a Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) for our Respiratory Care team. As a CRT/RRT you will work under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager.

Shift’s Available:Nights

Employment Type:per diem/PRN

Hours:12-hour shift: 7:00p - 7:00a

Location:Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• W ill provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily

• C onduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients

• S et up, monitor , and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently

• M ay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provid e airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitat e patients in critical situations

• A ssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed

• E nsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned , sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

Education and Training

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

• Alabama state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC

• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current

• ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

• PALS certificate upon hire and maintain current, or obtained within 60 days of hire

• High School Diploma

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree

• NRP certificate

• 2 years experience as an RCP
