Fall 2026 UNF Internship Opportunities

At Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors, Inc., we don't just build infrastructure — we build life-changing infrastructure. We are a privately owned, employee-owned (ESOP) civil contracting firm based in Jacksonville, FL.

We are currently connecting with University of North Florida (UNF) students interested in gaining hands-on professional experience with Petticoat-Schmitt.

At this time, we are scheduling internship conversations with current UNF seniors. Students in other class years are still encouraged to connect with our team and learn more about future opportunities with Petticoat-Schmitt.

Our Team Development team will also be attending upcoming UNF career fairs , giving students the opportunity to meet us in person, learn more about our company, and discuss potential internship and career opportunities.

Whether your interests are in accounting, finance, business, construction, engineering, or another area that could support our organization , we're interested in meeting motivated students who are ready to learn, contribute, and gain meaningful professional experience.

Specific responsibilities will vary based on your area of study, interests, experience, and the needs of our teams.

Internship opportunities may be available in areas such as:

• Accounting & Finance
• Construction & Project Management
• Civil Engineering
• Estimating & Preconstruction
• Other corporate and operational functions

Available opportunities will depend on current business needs and the student's background and interests.

• Currently enrolled at the University of North Florida (UNF) .
• Current seniors will receive priority consideration for internship interviews at this time.
• Interest in gaining practical, hands-on professional experience.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Professional attitude and willingness to take initiative.
• Relevant coursework, extracurricular involvement, previous employment, or internship experience is a plus but not required.

Petticoat-Schmitt will be attending upcoming UNF career fairs throughout the recruiting season.
