Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist in a part-time capacity. This role focuses on delivering instruction and guidance to young learners in a virtual/VOCO environment, ensuring access to the curriculum for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Collaborate with educators, families, and school staff to promote an inclusive setting and help every child reach their full potential.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher or Specialist
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students
- Proficiency in virtual/VOCO instruction platforms
- Strong communication and interpersonal collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of assistive technology and strategies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Dedication to fostering an accessible and supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging and effective direct instruction to students on your caseload using virtual methods
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Consult with general education teachers and service providers to implement accommodations and modifications
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the evaluation process
- Advocate for student needs and help shape a barrier-free learning experience
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting for compliance requirements
