Job Description

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients in a short-term acute care facility, ensuring optimal respiratory support and adherence to clinical protocols. The role involves working during night shifts and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies according to physician orders.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust respiratory interventions as necessary.
• Assist with intubations and ventilator management to ensure effective patient ventilation.
• Document clinical assessments and treatments accurately in the charting system.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain equipment and uphold safety standards in a smoke-free campus environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) license.
• Possess at least 2 years of clinical experience, with nursery experience preferred.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; PALS preferred but not mandatory.
• Demonstrate ability to work rotating shifts, including nights.
• Show flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Ability to comply with facility policies, including COVID and flu vaccination declinations on a case-by-case basis.
