Design Engineer III - Connector Solutions

Amphenol Pcd is seeking a Design Engineer III to join our Connector Solutions team in Beverly, MA. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in the design and development of interconnect solutions. You will work on a variety of engineering projects related to cable assemblies and over-molded components, supporting both product development and manufacturing operations.Job Summary:The Design Engineer III designs, develops, and enhances new and existing interconnect products. This role evaluates and recommends specifications to ensure products meet technical, functional, and quality requirements. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Design Engineer III helps drive projects forward by performing feasibility studies, drafting 3D models, supporting first-time builds, and ensuring successful transition to production.Essential Functions:Support mechanical design of new product concepts through product development lifecycle and transfer to productionExecuting product changes and controlling existing product configurationsPrepare technical proposals (including product features & benefits, project schedule, costs, test plans, etc.)Generate CAD, engineering drawings and product specificationsParticipate in or lead formal internal processes such as design reviews, engineering changes, FMEA, and contract reviewsInterface with cross-functional teams including quality, sales & marketing, electrical & software engineering, purchasing, planning, manufacturing, and outside vendorsTechnical liaison for other Amphenol products sold through APCD to North American customersRequired Skills / Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent discipline5+ years of relevant experienceAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer product specificationsProficiency in 3D modeling and drafting (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD preferred)Familiarity with Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSuperior problem solving skills and attention to detailDesired Skills / Qualifications:Knowledge of rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing methods and techniquesExperience with Windchill/PLMFinancial acumen and project managementA Little Bit About Us:Amphenol Pcd, a subsidiary of Amphenol Corporation, is one of the world's leading suppliers of interconnect products for Military, Commercial Aerospace, and Industrial applications.
