Just Building Inc. is seeking an experienced Journeyman Lead Carpenter who is skilled in multiple areas of construction and capable of leading crews and managing projects from start to finish. We are looking for a dependable, highly skilled professional who can take ownership of both small and large-scale jobs while maintaining high-quality workmanship and job site efficiency.

As our company continues to grow, we're expanding with an additional crew, a work truck, and a full set of brand-new Milwaukee tools. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, take on a leadership role, and help shape the next phase of our company's success.

Position Overview
The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on construction experience, strong leadership abilities, and the confidence to run projects independently. This position requires someone who is organized, proactive, and experienced in coordinating crews and daily job site operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage residential and commercial construction projects 
• Supervise and coordinate field crews and subcontractors 
• Perform and oversee carpentry work including: 
  • Framing 
  • Finish carpentry 
  • Cabinet installation 
  • Trim work 
  • Doors and windows 
  • Decks and exterior work 
• Assist with and oversee additional trades including: 
  • Drywall 
  • Tiling 
  • Flooring 
  • Painting 
  • General remodeling 
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications 
• Maintain project schedules and ensure work is completed on time 
• Ensure quality control and high standards of workmanship 
• Enforce job site safety procedures and company standards 
• Communicate professionally with clients, inspectors, suppliers, and team members 
• Manage materials, tools, and daily project logistics 

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level carpentry experience required 
• Minimum of 5+ years of construction and leadership experience preferred 
• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices 
• Proven ability to run jobs independently
• Experience supervising crews
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills 
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - Required
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor
