Position Overview

The Engineering Technician supports engineering, maintenance, and operational activities through hands-on mechanical assembly, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, material handling, and facility support. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and experience gained through automotive repair, welding, fabrication, carpentry, construction trades, maintenance work, technical training, vocational programs, or high school/shop classes.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, machinery, and equipment in an industrial environment. Candidates who enjoy building, repairing, fabricating, troubleshooting, and working with their hands will be particularly successful in this role.

We are seeking dependable, safety-conscious individuals who possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to support a variety of engineering, maintenance, and operational projects. Experience with mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, carpentry, equipment maintenance, or other skilled trades is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Assembly & Maintenance

• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and components.
• Support the installation and maintenance of high-pressure tooling and piping systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Assist with equipment setup, testing, repairs, and facility maintenance activities.
• Follow engineering drawings, procedures, and work instructions.

Tooling & Equipment Support

• Organize, maintain, and inventory tools, hardware, and equipment.
• Ensure tools and materials are available to support production and maintenance activities.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.

Material Handling

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials as required.
• Support facility operations through equipment movement and setup.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Participate in required safety training and meetings.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical trade school training or vocational education preferred.

Experience

• Mechanical assembly, maintenance, repair, or industrial equipment experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, maintenance, or engineering support environments preferred.
• Forklift operating experience preferred.
• Electrical experience is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer proficiency, including:
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Outlook
• Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of equipment and materials.
• Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds without assistance.
• Occasional lifting of 50 pounds or more with assistance.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as required.

Work Environment

• Industrial, manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance environments.
• Exposure to noise from machinery, impact tools, compressed air systems, and equipment.
• Indoor and outdoor work throughout all seasons.

Schedule

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Additional Hours: Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs.

Requirements & Certifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to safely operate company vehicles when required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required.
• Steel-toed safety shoes required.
