Senior Compensation Consultant

Query Talent is recruiting a Senior Compensation Consultant for a confidential client in Chicago. This is a client-facing compensation advisory role focused on pay strategy, job architecture, market benchmarking, incentive design, and practical recommendations for senior business and HR leaders. Base salary range: $100,000 - $150,000, plus bonus. Expected total compensation: $150,000 - $175,000+. Work setup: Hybrid. Experience: 8+ years of compensation consulting or closely related HR advisory experience. Responsibilities:

• Lead compensation consulting engagements from planning and analysis through recommendations and delivery.
• Develop pay strategies, compensation philosophies, salary structures, job architecture, and incentive programs.
• Translate market data and analytical findings into clear, practical guidance for senior stakeholders.
• Manage day-to-day client relationships and multiple concurrent project workstreams.
• Review analyses and deliverables for quality, clarity, and business relevance.
• Coach junior colleagues and support business development where appropriate.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of compensation consulting or closely related HR advisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of broad-based compensation, market pricing, job architecture, incentive design, and compensation strategy.
• Experience managing complex client engagements or multiple large projects.
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Chicago, with at least three days per week in the office or with clients.
• Current authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Base salary range of $100,000 to $150,000, plus bonus.
