We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to be predominantly based in our Somersworth, NH cardiology practice, located just minutes from Dover. This role follows a rotating schedule (Week 1: 7:30am–4:00pm, Week 2: 8:30am–5:00pm), Monday through Friday. While primarily assigned to Somersworth, the Medical Assistant may be required to float to nearby cardiology locations, including Dover and Portsmouth, based on staffing and operational needs.This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, close-knit cardiology team in a well-organized outpatient setting. Team engagement is an important part of the culture, including celebrations, potlucks, and social events that bring the group together.The Medical Assistant supports providers through both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient rooming, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), chart preparation, prescription refill support, results management, and assisting with patient flow and care coordination.Essential FunctionsRoom patients and prepare exam rooms in a cardiology outpatient settingObtain vital signs, EKGs, complete a medication reconciliation, and document accurately in the EHRSupport medication refills and care coordinationAssist with clinic flow and provider supportParticipate in clinical huddles and flexible provider assignmentsRecognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriatelySupport patient education and care coordinationQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree in Medical Assisting preferredExperience1–2 years of Medical Assistant or clinical/medical office experience requiredExperience in a fast-paced outpatient or specialty setting strongly preferredLicensure & CertificationsBasic Life Support (BLS) certification preferredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA or equivalent national certification) preferredWhat You Bring to the RoleWe're looking for someone who thrives in a busy clinical environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative care team.
