Part‑Time, 10‑Month Learning Support Paraprofessional JobID: 1450 Date Posted: 6/25/2026 Location: Dallastown Intermediate School Date Available: 08/17/2026 Closing Date: 07/09/2026 Overview The Dallastown Area School District seeks to fill a Part‑Time, 10‑Month Learning Support Paraprofessional position at Dallastown Area Intermediate School (Grades 5‑6) beginning the start of the 2026‑2027 school year. As a highly‑qualified instructional paraprofessional, you will play a valuable role in inspiring and creating pathways for student success by supporting teachers in the delivery of supports and services for students with IEPs. Your work schedule will follow student attendance full and half days with full‑day hours being 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (5.5 work hours and a half‑hour unpaid lunch). Additional days may be arranged by your supervisor. While there are typically no pay periods July through August, you will enjoy summers off to spend more time with your family. For a full school year, your bi‑weekly pays will typically begin by mid‑September and continue through late‑June. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND completion of a locally developed assessment OR Associate's Degree or higher OR at least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more) Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year Child‑centered, warm, and receptive to children Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others Acceptable record of attendance Immediate/continued inclusion in Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) Six paid holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Good Friday After a successful Probationary Period of 90 calendar days, you will receive paid leave: 3 personal days and 10 sick days (pro‑rated based on hire date) If applicable, paid Bereavement Leave and Jury Duty supplemental pay Other available benefits: a Tax‑Sheltered Annuity Program, a Flexible Spending Account Program, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Responsibilities Working one‑on‑one or with small groups of students as directed by the teacher Aiding in supervision of students in both the classroom and the cafeteria Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises Performing routine clerical work Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment The Dallastown Area School is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE). #J-18808-Ljbffr
