CNC Machinist - Mill and/or Lathe

Pay: $29.00–$35.00 per hour
Employment: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: 1st Shift 10 hrs. a day Mon - Thurs. Fridays are OT

Agile Staffing is recruiting experienced CNC machinists for an anticipated direct-hire opportunity with a manufacturing company in Michigan City, Indiana.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or both.
Take machining jobs from blueprint through setup and first-piece inspection.
Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
Set and adjust tool and work offsets.
Create, edit, or adjust CNC programs based on experience.
Read engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot machining, setup, tooling, and quality problems.
Make adjustments to maintain quality and minimize scrap.
Follow safety, quality, and production procedures.
Assist and mentor less-experienced operators when needed.

Qualifications

Advanced CNC milling or turning experience.
Ability to complete machine setups with minimal supervision.
CNC programming or program-editing experience.
Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills.
Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality problems independently.
Experience with precision measuring instruments.
Strong attention to detail and accountability.

Experience is more important than years of service. Candidates with approximately 4–7+ years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply, but applicants with fewer years may be considered if they can independently perform advanced machining work.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with both CNC milling and turning.
Experience taking a job from blueprint through first-piece approval.
Experience with 6S, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement.
Experience training or mentoring other machinists.

Compensation

$29.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience and capability.
Full-time, direct-hire position.
