Carlsbad Coastal Dental is looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our general dental practice. We are looking for someone who is clinically skilled, warm and personable with patients, dependable, and interested in becoming a long-term addition to our team.

This is a great opportunity for a hygienist looking for a consistent part-time schedule with the potential to pick up additional days when coverage is needed.

Position Details

Compensation: $50–$60 per hour , depending on experience

Regular Schedule:

• Every Tuesday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• • Lunch: 12:00–1:00 PM
• Every Friday: 8:00 AM–2:30 PM
• • Break: 11:00–11:30 AM
• Additional opportunities: There may be opportunities to pick up additional days when other team members are sick or away on vacation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene care, including prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance.
• Perform periodontal assessments and charting.
• Take dental radiographs as prescribed.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and individualized home-care recommendations.
• Build trusting and lasting relationships with patients.
• Communicate periodontal and other oral health concerns to the dentist and dental team.
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation.
• Follow OSHA, infection-control, and office safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable treatment environment.
• Work collaboratively with the dentist and entire dental team.
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and supportive office culture.

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in good standing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Strong clinical and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and professional chairside manner.
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative member of the team.
• General dentistry experience preferred.
