Mechanical Engineer

The Opportunity:

Research, design, analyze, integrate, and test electromagnetic and electro-optical (E/O) systems and components in support of undersea Electronic Warfare, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems, and E/O systems, including lasers.Apply advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.Plan, conduct, and direct research or development. Work on complex projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches. Plan and direct projects and supply technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to professional co-workers. Work with a wide latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.

You Have:

• Knowledge of research and development methodologies applicable to undersea technologies
• Knowledge of underseas warfare and naval systems
• Knowledge of processes for integration of new systems into submarines
• Knowledge of Electromagnetics and E/O in physical mediums
• Knowledge of the Naval Research and Development Enterprise (NRDE)
• Ability to convey complex technical and system constructs across a diverse and integrated science, engineering, and acquisition team
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Master's degree and 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, or Doctorate degree in Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
