About the Role

Woodland Builders is seeking an experienced, hands-on Carpenter to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, understands residential construction, and can work independently or as part of a team.

The Carpenter will support residential remodeling and design-build projects by performing framing, finish carpentry, trim installation, punch list work, and other hands-on carpentry tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining Woodland Builders' high standards on every jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry work on residential remodeling and construction projects
• Complete framing, finish carpentry, trim installation, blocking, repairs, adjustments, and related tasks
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials accurately
• Read and follow plans, project details, measurements, and jobsite instructions
• Support whole-home renovations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and other remodeling projects
• Complete punch list items and final detail work as needed
• Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail
• Work independently on assigned tasks while staying aligned with the project team
• Coordinate with Lead Carpenters, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other team members as needed
• Identify jobsite issues and communicate them promptly to the appropriate team member
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow jobsite safety procedures and company standards
• Represent Woodland Builders professionally while working in clients' homes and on active jobsites

Qualifications

• Previous carpentry experience required
• At least 3 to 5 years of carpentry experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and tools
• Ability to measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately
• Experience with framing, finish carpentry, trim installation, and general residential carpentry
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings, plans, and measurements
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to communicate jobsite needs or challenges
• Professional communication skills with team members, subcontractors, and homeowners
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
• OSHA certification preferred, but not required

Work Context

• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor conditions that may include weather, heat, humidity, dust, and other jobsite conditions
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry materials and tools as needed for carpentry work
• Must be able to stand, bend, climb, kneel, reach, and perform physical carpentry tasks throughout the workday
• Noise level is generally loud on active jobsites
• Must be able to move safely and efficiently in active construction environments
• Strong stamina and physical capability are required for hands-on carpentry work

Special Requirements

• Must maintain a phone capable of text messaging for jobsite communication
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment
• Must maintain reliable transportation to and from jobsites
• Must be able to work on residential jobsites throughout the South Shore, MA area
