The CNS Surveillance Department in Melbourne, Florida is seeking a Senior Level System Engineer to support the sustainment and development of new features for our Configurable Integrated Surveillance System (CISS) for commercial aerospace platforms. Location & Position Melbourne, Florida; Onsite; U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status – company will offer sponsorship if needed. Responsibilities Develop product level requirements from customer and industry specifications. Further decompose requirements to support both software and hardware developments. Perform trade studies to support and optimize the technical solution and requirements. Define integration and verification strategies for avionic functions and products, create test plans, test cases and procedures, execute system verification, and create test reports. Analyze gathered data and develop solutions or alternative methods to optimize performance and increase efficiencies. Communicate effectively to stakeholders across the technical spectrum, including customers, program management, senior leadership, and functional teams. Qualifications Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Familiarity with the systems engineering development process, including requirements management. Experience leading real‑time, embedded system design and development. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with flight deck design concepts and operational certification requirements. Knowledge of technical project management principles to manage dependencies and risks. Experience with safety‑critical, real‑time, embedded system development. Experience in avionics or other aircraft system development and certification. Experience developing systems compliant with ARP‑4754, RTCA DO‑178, DO‑160, and DO‑254. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in both Agile and waterfall development methods. Familiarity with script‑based verification methods and practices (Python, LabVIEW).
