Automation and Controls Engineer

Responsibilities Design, program, and maintain automation and control systems. Lead capital automation projects from concept through implementation. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams. Improve equipment reliability, productivity, and process performance. Provide technical support for troubleshooting and system optimization. Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, machine vision systems, and related controls. Create and maintain electrical schematics using CAD software. Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, equipment procurement, and commissioning activities. Design and support automation solutions for industrial manufacturing applications. Analyze equipment performance and implement process improvements. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures. Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards. Travel to customer sites and project locations as required. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, and machine vision systems Proficiency with CAD software for electrical schematic development 5-10 years of manufacturing automation and controls experience Must be located in the Navasota area or within a reasonable commuting distance; this is an onsite position Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. Required Skills Knowledge of pipeline construction methods, welding processes, and protective coating systems. Experience conducting field inspections and preparing inspection reports. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality documents. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
