At Metko, we’re looking for an HR Generalist who brings warmth to a conversation, care to employee questions, and accuracy to the details people depend on. Benefits administration is the primary focus of this position. Just as important is how you approach it: making employees comfortable asking questions, helping them understand their options, and following through with clear, dependable answers. The opportunity This is a hands‑on HR support role that works closely with plant leadership to administer benefits, support employees, and carry out established HR programs and processes. We’re looking for someone who enjoys both the people and administrative sides of HR. Someone who can keep benefit records organized, make a new employee feel welcome, and bring enthusiasm to an employee appreciation event. You’ll follow the direction set by leadership while contributing ideas, sharing employee feedback, and helping programs run smoothly. Your work will help make everyday interactions with HR welcoming, useful, and dependable. What you’ll do Benefits administration Serve as the primary contact for routine employee benefit questions. Process benefit enrollments, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations. Help employees understand and navigate company benefit programs. Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and employee communications. Maintain accurate benefit records and work with providers and internal resources to resolve routine questions or discrepancies. Support established leave and benefit administration processes. Employee engagement and culture Maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the facility and build relationships across departments and shifts. Coordinate established employee appreciation events, recognition programs, and company activities. Bring enthusiasm and thoughtful follow‑through to activities that support teamwork and make work more enjoyable. Assist with employee surveys, feedback initiatives, new‑hire check‑ins, and exit interviews. Help prepare clear, timely employee communications and announcements. Onboarding and training coordination Coordinate new‑hire orientation and onboarding so employees feel informed, prepared, and welcome. Explain benefits, policies, and company programs. Ensure required new‑hire documentation is completed and maintained. Coordinate training activities and maintain training records. HR administration and employee support Help employees with routine questions about HR programs, policies, and procedures. Maintain accurate employee information in the HR system and personnel records. Process employee changes and related documentation. Assist with timekeeping and attendance administration. Prepare routine reports and protect confidential employee and company information. Recruiting support Post approved job openings and assist with candidate communication. Coordinate interviews and pre‑employment activities. Give candidates a welcoming, professional first impression and help communicate the advantages of working at Metko. Support recruiting activities as directed by staffing needs and plant leadership. What will help you succeed You enjoy connecting with people and making them feel comfortable. Previous experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, payroll, or related administrative work is preferred. Candidates with strong organizational, communication, and employee‑service skills who demonstrate an interest in Human Resources will also be considered. Discretion when handling confidential information. The ability to follow established processes consistently. Comfort with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn HR, benefits, and payroll systems. Willingness to connect with employees throughout a manufacturing facility. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required. Why Metko?
