About the role The Technical Design Coordinator manages projects and assigned functions for the Technical Design organization. Position is responsible for maintaining the Technical Design Manual, Label function, Fit Model process and gives full support for Technical Design and Product Development team. Position also manages department financial function. FIT MODEL MANAGEMENT Manage fit model process Book fit models and manage fit schedules; involves significant coordination and scheduling work. Manage billing review/approval process; involves attention to fee/charge procedures. Manage model agency relationship. Requires understanding of business priorities to assure models are available when necessary. TECHNICAL DESIGN MANUAL Maintain Technical Design Manual working with multiple business areas (Quality Assurance, Technical Design, etc.). Manage revision and communication process. Manage inquiries pertaining to manual content. Act as Business Interface with IT as it relates to communication of the manual; manage the loading of data into system database. Act as project manager/point person for pulling information together, resolving issues, obtaining data. Field questions from Li & Fung and external vendors relating to guide. LABELS Act as project manager for clothing labels; act as point person; support new initiatives and data collection. Work closely with Marketing, Pre-Production and Technical Design. Execute plans. Manage label library. Communicate label initiatives and changes. Act as business point person when working with Design on new initiatives. Partner with external label vendor, NexGen, regarding our web-based label ordering system; involves placing orders, supporting product integrity, managing the process with the vendor. ADMINISTRATIVE Book travel (air, hotels, car services) Support all fittings and product life cycle events/meetings Train and support users on IT systems which involve working with SharePoint, Talbots shared drives (pattern library) New hire set up Support Technical Design team and Product Development team as needed Manage Department invoice process for Technical Design. Responsible for the review, approval, and processing of all invoices. Challenge issues and resolve as appropriate with internal and external associates. WEBPDM Clean up POM’s (Point of Measure) and databases You’ll bring to the role Fashion associated degree and/or 2-3 years of experience in fashion Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Strong project management and coordination skills Ability to manage multiple priorities Poise under pressure Builds collaborative relationships internal and external contacts Quality PC skills, including PLM, Excel, Word, Illustrator, Photoshop, and ability to learn quickly Quantitative skills to manage budgets, fees, charges, etc. Benefits You will be eligible to receive a merchandise discount at select KnitWell Group brands, subject to each brand’s discount policies.
