Job Title: Evaluator & SLPA Supervisor, School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Location: La Plata, Maryland Company: Strides Therapy & Educational Services About Us Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of contracted therapy services dedicated to enhancing students' educational experience in schools. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development within educational settings. We are a therapist- and woman-owned and operated company. Position Overview This role is ideal for an experienced SLP who enjoys leadership and collaboration. The primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations, writing evaluation reports and IEPs, supervising SLPAs in accordance with state guidelines, attending IEP meetings, and providing clinical support to the special education team. The therapist will maintain a very small direct service caseload, allowing the majority of their time to focus on evaluations, documentation, compliance, and SLPA supervision. Additional Details Supportive district looking for an SLP to conduct evaluations and supervise SLPAs. SLP may be expected to cover a small caseload, but the primary purpose would be supervision and evaluations/attending IEP meetings. Responsibilities The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills to a small caseload of students Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities. Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation. Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools. State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. (if applicable) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred. Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus. Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
