This is a full-time position onsite at our Albany, NY location, working 37.50 hours per week.

ANNUAL SALARY COMPENSATION RANGE: $70,000 to $80,000

Responsibilities:

• Assists in all facets of the commercial insurance marketing process for the organization to provide support to Producers, Service Team Members and Clients to effectively market/procure all lines of commercial insurance for both new business as well as renewal business on an as needed basis.
• Assists with preparation of sales proposals in coordination with producer, prepares and submits applications to carriers/wholesalers, negotiates with underwriters, coverage reviews and analyze carrier quotes.
• Reviews quotations and indications from markets and works in collaboration with sales and service to prepare client proposals based on client’s needs, rates, and coverages.
• Assists as needed in design, formulation, and implementation of insurance programs for clients and prospective clients.
• Assists with various ratings calculations and quotations as requested.
• Assembles and distributes various transactions as requested.
• Assists with recurring marketing update meetings on a minimum of a bi-weekly basis to assist with status updates regarding new business and renewal submissions.
• Help to produce marketing activity reports for the sales and service teams.
• Assists and supports in the development, execution, and adoption of company-wide best practices as it relates to effectively marketing new and renewal business. This will include collaboration with other departments/divisions to develop processes and procedures in line with company goals and initiatives.
• Assists with development and maintain professional relationship with insurance markets, wholesaler and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure the program, growth and expansion of company plans and products.
• Effectively helps build relationships with members of the insurance company through a pattern of professional risk submissions, company meetings and client-focused negotiations.
• Assists in the completion of new appointment paperwork and review contractual term and contracts and works with operations to ensure all appointment paperwork, commission schedules etc. are kept organized and accessible per company policies/procedures.
• Assists with providing proactive updates to leadership personnel regarding carrier contingencies, profit sharing etc.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating exposures, controls, loss experience and coverage gaps.
• Strong ability to research market niches, communicate with carrier marketing departments and underwriters and develop action plans for new business and renewal efforts.
• Understand the role of automation in our agency and maximize utilization of its capabilities for customer service, additional coverage sales, marketing and underwriting activities including utilization of the agency management system (AMS360).
• Ability to communicate via phone, email, clearly and effectively in-person and in writing.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of Property and Casualty insurance work experience.
• Active P&C license. CPCU, CIC or equivalent designations preferred but not required.
• Prior sales and/or marketing experience within the insurance industry.
• Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Maintain licensing and/or educational requirements.
• High School diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 10lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
