JOB SUMMARY

Our client, a long-established, privately held company in Atlanta with real estate and investment holdings, is seeking a detail-driven Accounting Specialist with strong account reconciliation experience to support accounting across multiple entities. This is an onsite role in their office off I-75 near Northside Drive, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM.

Reporting to the on-site Controller, this position owns the monthly reconciliation of approximately 60 bank and brokerage accounts. It also maintains the general ledger, processes accounts payable and receivable, and supports monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.

This is a small, professional office that values discretion, courtesy, and a strong work ethic. The team is close-knit, and the company values character and integrity as much as technical skill. The role offers direct exposure to multi-entity accounting and investment activity, with close mentorship from the Controller. It's a strong fit for someone who wants to deepen their accounting skills and build a long-term career with one company. Several team members have been with the firm 15 years or more.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Bank & Brokerage Reconciliations

• Reconcile approximately 60 bank and brokerage/investment accounts each month, accurately and on schedule.
• Investigate, document, and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and statements.
• Track and reconcile transfers between bank, investment, and intercompany accounts.
• Maintain cash logs and monitor cash activity across entities.

General Ledger & Accounting

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger for multiple entities.
• Record and categorize income, expenses, deposits, and investment transactions.
• Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential records and supporting documentation.
• Support the Controller with month-end close and special projects.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

• Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding, then process payments and issue checks.
• Prepare and send invoices, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Record incoming payments and deposits accurately in the accounting system.

Financial Reporting

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial and investment reports.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for management and outside tax preparers.
• Support year-end activities and annual 1099 reporting.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Hands-on experience performing high-volume bank and/or brokerage reconciliations. This is required.
• Solid command of accounting fundamentals: debits and credits, journal entries, and the general ledger.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, investment accounts, or real estate accounting is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting software.
• Someone who enjoys detailed, recurring work and takes real pride in accuracy.
• A polished, professional communication style.
• Highly organized, dependable, and discreet with confidential information.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, fully onsite.
• Candidates should have a reliable, reasonable commute to the I-75/Northside Drive area.

COMPENSATION
$60,000–$70,000, based on experience
