Job Title: School Nurse
Location: Hastings, NE
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour (salary based on education and experience)
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM
Type: 9-Month Position (Paid over 12 Months)

Job Description

Are you a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse looking to make a difference in the lives of students? Join the Hastings school district as a School Nurse at the elementary level! You'll provide health support, monitor trends and serve as a vital resource for students, parents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide health counseling and first aid for students
• Develop and implement school health protocols
• Coordinate with medical specialists and community resources
• Monitor and administer medications, vaccinations and screenings (vision, hearing, blood pressure, height/weight, oral health)
• Maintain student health records and prepare state-mandated reports
• Conduct classroom teaching on health topics as requested
• Respond to and manage communicable diseases and other health concerns
• Advocate for student health and safety including child abuse documentation and follow-ups
• Provide CPR and first aid training for school staff

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• CPR instructional certification
• Valid Nebraska driver's license
• Previous school nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills
