Licensed Veterinary Technician - ICU

Description BluePearl Pet Hospital in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate Intensive Care Unit. This position is eligible for up to a $20,000 sign‑on bonus. Schedule Thurs‑Sat plus evenings of Wednesdays, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am. Pay $27.00 – $51.00 per hour plus competitive hourly shift differentials. Pay band depends on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4‑hour minimum. Weekday Overnight (6 pm‑8 am) & Weekend Days (8 am‑6 pm): $4.50 per hour Weekend Overnight (6 pm‑8 am): $8.00 per hour Responsibilities Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique and positioning of patients. Have a comprehensive understanding of normal ranges for patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert the veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Mentor and train other co‑workers.
