Purchasing (Maintenance Department)

Temp to Hire

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Job Summary: Communicate with vendors and suppliers to support company needs, including researching parts, suppliers, servicing, machine materials, and products; negotiating cost-effective options; and acquiring replacements or missing shipments. Plan and execute purchase orders, expedite orders as needed, maintain purchasing and maintenance records, track equipment and supply usage, assist with facility repair needs, and coordinate custodial closet supplies and cleaning crew service needs.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Purchase tooling, machine parts, materials, goods, and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
• Conduct research for parts, suppliers, servicing, and part sourcing for machine materials and products while negotiating for the best and most cost-effective options.
• Maintain and manage inventory, equipment, supplies usage, and stock records for all facilities.
• Maintain maintenance records and input work orders for repairs in the Maintenance System (COGZ).
• Assist with repairs and maintenance needs for facilities.
• Maintain custodial closets and coordinate cleaning crew needs or services as required.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing, with mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Environment:
• Office / Warehouse Environment

• Jeans or Pants / Steel Toe Boots when needed

• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions

• Light lifting
