divh2Medical Assistant/h2p$2,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible new hires/pp$18.41/hour starting wage for non-certified Medical Assistants/pp$19.43/hour starting wage for Medical Assistants Certified through AAMA or AMT/ph3Position Summary/h3pUnder general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, will provide excellent patient care by performing or assisting in a variety of medical procedures and tests to assist in the examination and treatment of patients, including but not limited to vital signs, procedures, various treatment, administering injections and venipuncture. Assists with clerical duties to maintain efficient operations./ph3Essential Functions and Responsibilities/h3ulliPerforms to service excellence standards:/liliResponds promptly, professionally and courteously to all customers needs./liliCooperates and communicates effectively with all patients, families and staff./liliContributes to continuous quality improvement efforts./liliPrepares examining rooms including turning on computer terminals and stocks room with supplies./liliOrganizes forms for physicals, etc./liliWorks collaboratively with provider to assists in providing care to patients:/liliCollect patients history./liliPrepares patient and necessary equipment/supplies for visit./liliDocuments all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, vital signs, etc. in-patient chart and/or computer system./liliAdministers EKGs, PFTs, immunizations, medicines, draws blood, etc. as directed./liliObtains approval for and phones in prescriptions as directed./liliCompletes lab slips and referral forms as directed./liliAssists with routine procedures for gynecological exams, physicals, and office visits, etc./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pRequired:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or a Patient Care Tech./li/ulpOR/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician./liliFor clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Canadian equivalents, (MHC approved providers for the resuscitation certification) is required within 6 months of hire/liliFor positions designated as float positions, travel to or between clinics is required/li/ulpPreferred:/pulliCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)/liliElectronic medical record experience./liliOne-year experience working in medical office with multiple providers./liliPrevious experience working in a medical office of the same specialty./li/ulpEqual Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans/ppAdditional Information/pulliSchedule: Full-time/liliDaily Work Times: 8:00am - 4:00pm/liliHours Per Pay Period: 80/liliOn Call: No/liliWeekends: No/li/ul/div
