Medical Assistant MA 1 or MA 2

Primary Location: 130 Town Center Drive, Troy, MI 48084 Minimal travel to assist at our 15 regional office locations may be required as needed.

Schedule: Full-Time | MondayFriday | No Weekends! Hours: 4042 hours per week Start Time: Must be available to start between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM End Time: Must be available to work until approximately 5:00 PM6:00 PM

What You'll Do

As a Medical Assistant at MIU, you will be an important part of our fast-paced clinical team and gain hands-on experience supporting patients throughout their care.

Patient Care

• Room patients and obtain chief complaints
• Take and document accurate vital signs
• Assist with patient flow in a fast-paced clinical environment

Laboratory & Clinical Support

• Perform in-office laboratory testing
• Collect and manage specimens
• Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient care

Urologic Procedures

You may assist with a variety of urologic procedures, including:

• Cystoscopies
• Vasectomies
• Prostate biopsies
• Urocuff testing
• Catheter care
• And other urologic procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed externship. This may qualify you for the MA 2 level.

No MA certificate? That's okay! Candidates without an accredited Medical Assistant certificate or diploma are welcome to apply. Qualified candidates may be considered for the MA 1 level and trained for success.

Work Environment

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Able to provide compassionate care in a high-volume setting serving approximately 150200 patients per day
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Professional, dependable, and patient-focused

Availability & Transportation

• Must be available for shifts beginning between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM
• Must be available to work until approximately 5:00 PM6:00 PM
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be willing and able to provide occasional assistance at other MIU locations as needed

Clinical Comfort

• Comfortable assisting with direct patient care
• Comfortable assisting with urologic procedures
• Comfortable with catheter care and other clinical responsibilities
