About PESCM:   PESCM, located in San Rafael, is the only 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County, with specialties in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Urgent Care, Emergency, Radiology, and Critical Care. About the Job

• Overseeing appointments and managing clients throughout their visit
• Participating with the Surgeon's in-patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
• Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
• Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient and procedural assessment such as radiography and CT
• Executing, inducing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
• Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs
• Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care
• Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients being a strong patient advocate during the patient's hospitalization
• Maintaining all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients
• Providing extensive client communication and education upon patient admit and at discharge regarding post-operative care medications
• Ability to work occasional holidays and OT as needed

About you

• Advanced knowledge along with preparation and administration of injectable and inhaled anesthetic agents
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary specialty setting required
• RVT, or VTS preferred but not required with right candidates
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
• Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected

Salary

• $34.00 - $38.00 / hour, dependent on experience
• $200 for being on call, plus an additional $300 if called in.  Eligible for overnight and differentials
• $4.00/hr overnight and $3.00/hr weekend different (stacked)

Schedules

• Tuesday through Friday, 10:00am - 8:30pm
• Monday through Thursday 9:00am - 7:30pm

Sign-On Bonus: Registered Veterinary Technicians are eligible for $3,000
