Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU/IMC

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) for a 13-week contract. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care during night shifts with a focus on patient-centered approaches.

Unit Information

Location: 3South, City, State
Number of Beds: 32
Staffing: 9 RNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT), 2 Tele Monitor Techs
Patient Ratios: 1:4
Type of Equipment: Patient specific equipment, IV pumps, SCD pumps, BiPAP/CPAP, Telemetry monitors
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Shift Details

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Weekends: Rotating every other weekend
Call Requirements: None

Key Responsibilities

Provide pre and post-operative care for patients.
Manage medication administration and IV therapy, including drip titration and non-titration drips.
Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate patient care plans.
Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning.

Qualifications

Required:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN)
