VP, Engineering Finance

Job Overview Technical Operations, Engineering, Cyber Security, and AI within NBCU Operations and Technology division is a global shared service. The VP, Engineering Finance will act as a financial and strategic thought partner to the CTO & EVP Enterprise Engineering and leaders in Engineering, Distribution, Content & Marketing Supply Chain, Digital Development, Information Security and Enterprise IT. The VP will oversee core financial budgeting and pacing activities, strategic analysis, workforce management and key vendor insights across the organization’s global footprint and report to the Chief Financial Officer for Tech Ops, Engineering, Cyber and AI. Responsibilities Establish standard operating rhythms to assist Engineering leaders and Controllership in overall management and direction of the business from a financial perspective. Own consolidation, reporting and variance analysis for short-­term and long-­term planning and forecasting rhythms. Develop tools and processes to provide insights into critical strategic operational areas (e.g., Capital investment return analysis, Engineering time tracking, Capitalized Labor). Provide leadership in the development of strategic financial objectives aligned with the long‑range plan of the Engineering organization and lead all core finance processes (budgets, pacing, estimate updates, long‑range plans) for the Engineering division. Structure, coach, and develop an outstanding team of 7+ finance professionals across New York, LA, Colorado, and London. Lead the financial preparation and delivery of monthly operational reviews. Engage and build relationships with adjacent business units to drive efficiencies and growth opportunities, ensuring transparency into the division financials. Work to drive change as needed while creating buy‑in and consensus among internal stakeholders. Develop strong relationships with the Engineering leadership team and guide their plans to ensure the division achieves its budgets and long‑range plans. Partner with finance peers to implement operational and financial best practices across the business, ensuring balance‑sheet stewardship and controllership. Exhibit O&T’s leadership principles and ensure operations remain focused on reliability, availability, productivity, growth, and security. Qualifications Basic Qualifications 8+ years of financial experience, including advanced leadership and financial stewardship. Relevant senior financial management and leadership experience preferably in a dynamic, matrixed organization. Experience managing financial metrics and forecasting in fast‑moving engineering, tech, product, or digital development organizations. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. Desired Qualifications Media/Broadcast industry experience preferred. Strategic thinker who can be a credible thought leader in an experienced leadership team with the ability to respond quickly to opportunities in a rapidly changing media landscape. Integrity, excellent judgment, and business acumen, and the ability to play a significant executive role by providing thoughtful, strategic insights to senior leadership. Strong leader and persuasive communicator with vision, proven ability to motivate independently and collaboratively, and excellent writing and verbal presentation skills. Ability to establish trust and rapport with operating and financial leaders inside and adjacent to the organization. Exceptional execution focus with multitasking ability and leadership of wide‑ranging business initiatives. Excellent project management skills. Proven recruitment, development and retention skills for a high‑performing financial organization and ability to manage strong personalities. Flexible, creative approach to the business and ability to adapt experience and knowledge to the organization. Prior CFO or P&L leadership experience a plus. Acts like an owner, not a renter. Additional Information This position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of four days per week in the office, and the Company reserves the right to change in‑office requirements at any time. Salary: $200,000 – $235,000 (bonus & LTI eligible).
