Develop, coordinate, and evaluate activities and programs that enhance the quality of student life. The position provides direct support for campus-wide program initiatives to prospective and current Latinx students. The position works in collaboration with other areas providing support and advice to guide and to assist students with issues which affect college success, including housing, admission and placement, financial aid, advising, retention, and liaison with campus community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership and Supervision:

Regular office hours are established between 8 am - 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. The position provides direct support for campus-wide program initiatives to prospective and current Latinx students. The position works in collaboration with other areas providing support and advice to guide and to assist students with issues which affect college success, including housing, admission and placement, financial aid, advising, retention, and liaison with campus community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership and Supervision:
- Hire, train and supervise the Latinx College Preparation Program Coordinator. Support the program coordinator in building connections to in-district high school partners, recruiting students, and developing program content.
- Assist with the collection of data, evaluation of effectiveness of programs and services and preparation of reports and surveys concerning Latinx populations. Assist with performing ongoing assessments to ensure that program goals and objectives are met.
- Participate in advisory committees and facilitate training, workshops, or like events as assigned.
- Provide leadership and support for the Ganas Summer Symposium, sharing responsibilities with Latinx College Preparation Coordinator. This includes, but it not limited to program curriculum, logistics, and events. Requires that individuals stay on campus for the duration of the program, coordinating after-hours activities for Symposium students.
- Coordinate COCC's Latinx student programs, including its college preparation and college student programs.
- Design, coordinate, and present programs, seminars, workshops, and events focused on education, personal skill development, and goal attainment.
- Connect, collaborate, and establish partnerships with campus department and community organizations to maximize services and to strengthen outreach efforts. Increase the understanding of needs, experiences, culture of Latinx students.
- Monitor Latinx program expenses and assist in the development and writing of grant proposals for additional program funds.
- Advise, mentor, and advocate for prospective and current Latinx students from across the service district about admissions, academics, financial aid, personal and other pertinent issues. Serve as an advisor to campus groups or student clubs.
- Develop and implement recruitment and retention programs for Latinx students, including activities and events focused on enrollment, academic success, personal skill development and goal attainment.
- Perform other essential functions as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

- Bachelor's degree.
- Two (2) years of related professional work experience with Latinx populations and communities in diversity, equity, social justice or inclusion work in providing support, advocacy, and program services preferably in student activities/affairs in higher education or an equivalent area, such as social service, community outreach, or related areas.
- One (1) year of direct supervisory experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English.
