Job Description We are seeking a senior Roadway Engineer to support and oversee transportation and infrastructure projects within the Orlando, Florida region. The Engineer will provide technical expertise, leadership, and construction engineering inspection support to ensure projects meet contract requirements, quality standards, and schedules. Responsibilities Serve as senior technical resource and advisor for assigned projects and team members. Provide specialized technical input to studies and design work within the area of expertise. Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high‑quality, cost‑effective work by others. Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and provide constructive feedback. Act as Engineer of Record for small to medium‑size transportation improvement projects. Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical effort with accuracy and detail. Apply expertise throughout all steps of completing the discipline component of PS&E packages. Perform quality control review of design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation. Prepare and review technical specification sections for completeness and compliance. Provide input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements. Mentor junior engineers and technical staff for professional development. Manage client and stakeholder communications regarding technical matters and project status. Ensure compliance with FDOT design criteria, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout project delivery. Lead small to mid‑sized project teams and coordinate efforts across multiple disciplines. Perform independent technical reviews demonstrating knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines. Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in design methodologies and project delivery. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in civil engineering plus 6 years of related experience or equivalent. Valid U.S. driver's license; must pass Motor Vehicle Records review. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months. U.S. citizenship required. Familiarity with FDOT plan production and design criteria. Preferred Qualifications Strong judgment in proactively identifying and solving operational challenges, establishing objectives, and developing standards. Experience with Bentley Open Roads and 3D modeling. Ability to design typical sections, alignments, plan and section drawings. Ability to lead small teams to complete projects. Perform independent technical reviews with knowledge of multiple disciplines. Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future. Compensation range: $100,000 to $150,000 per year.
