Food & Beverage Assistant (Part Time) at Hotel Indigo

Job SummaryThe food runner position assists the servers by taking guests the correct food and drink to the corresponding table and seat position. The Food Runner will also assist servers by taking drink orders and refilling drinks for guests while ensuring that all orders are delivered quickly and efficiently.Primary Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsDeliver the correct food to guestsSeat guests at their tablesAssist other team members with service and food deliveryAnswer any questions guest may haveRefill water jugs for guestsEnsure guests have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their foodDouble check orders before delivery to ensure it matches the ticket orderPrepare sauce cups for servers as neededCut fruit for bartenders as neededPrepare the expo line for serviceBus tables as neededSweep and mop all work areas and sanitize common areasTake out trash to dumpsters ensuring that it never overflowsUphold sanitation and food safety principlesCorrectly completes opening/closing dutiesAssists with both FOH and BOH closing/opening duties as assignedReports any unsafe condition, act, accidents and/or injuries to the manager on dutyAll other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceSufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needsAbility to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred.Previous customer service experience preferred but not requiredCPR Training (can be obtained after employment)Must be at least 18 years old (to serve alcohol)Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesDetail oriented and thoroughAbility to perform consistent work to the highest of standardsAbility to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guestsAbility to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly wayAbility to memorize seating chartsAbility to identify different drinks and menu items correctlyAbility to multitaskAbility to work as part of a teamPhysical DemandsMust be able to lift 50lbsMust be able to carry trays of food or drinksMust be able to stay on feet for entire shiftFrequent walking, bending, stoopingWorking ConditionsIndoor and/or outdoorPossible exposure to extreme heat or cold depending on seasonExposure to slippery floors and surfacesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not an exclusive list of all duties and responsibilities.
