Bookkeeper

Company Introduction An established construction company is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant & Payroll Specialist. This individual will manage daily accounting and payroll functions while supporting project billing and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and experienced in construction accounting. Responsibilities Manage payroll and maintain accurate employee records Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable Complete bank and credit‑card reconciliations Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries Support month‑end and year‑end reporting for the external CPA Update quarterly work‑in‑progress reports Assist project managers with monthly contract billing Manage AIA billing, lien releases, and waivers Track job costs, budgets, and project profitability Maintain organized records and support audits as needed Qualifications Construction industry accounting experience required Experience with bookkeeping, payroll, AP/AR, and reconciliations Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accounting Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and independently College degree not required Bilingual proficiency not required Preferred Experience TRUE Construct WIP reporting AIA billing
