Job Description

The Budget Specialist I, under supervision, performs routine budget preparation and analysis work.

Responsibilities:

-Prepares journal and budget entries. Collects, analyzes, and reports data

-Provides advice and assistance concerning budget and funding procedures and methods

-Assists in the monitoring, processing and tracking requests

-Assists in reviewing, evaluating, and preparing request for funds

-Assists in the preparation of annual operating budget

-Assists in the preparation of legislative appropriations requests, fiscal notes, and analysis of legislation

-Conducts training

Education and Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Starting salary for this position is $3333.34 monthly and is negotiable depending on education and experience.

Texas A&M University-Victoria is the most recent addition to the Texas A&M University System – making it the 12th campus in the System. The University was founded in 1973 as part of the University of Houston System and was transferred to the Texas A&M System during the 89th Texas Legislative Session.
