Job Description AECOM is hiring in Knoxville, Tennessee for a first‑of‑a‑kind program with partners advancing innovative stellarator fusion technology. Responsibilities We are looking for professionals with experience in Heavy Industrial or Power Generation with technical backgrounds and skills in the following areas. Mechanical Engineers Piping Designers (CAD) Structural Engineers Structural Designers (CAD) Electrical Engineers Electrical Designers (CAD) Instrumentation & Controls Engineers Project Controls and Scheduling If you are interested in fusion technology and willing to live in or relocate to the Knoxville area, please respond to this posting. Hiring will begin in Q4 2026 and Q1 2027. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering. At least 6 years of experience in Heavy Industrial and/or power generation markets. Must be able to work in person a few days a week in Knoxville, TN. Design Team Requirements: Piping, Structural, Electrical Designers (CAD) with 6+ years of relevant experience or AA/AS + 4 years of experience. Expertise with AutoCAD and Revit. Project Team Requirements: Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of experience in Project Controls and Scheduling for large‑scale projects in heavy industrial and/or power generation. Preferred Qualifications: 12+ years of experience for leadership roles. Professional Engineering License. Additional Information: Relocation assistance may be available. Sponsorship is not available. Compensation will be based on education, qualifications, experience and work location. All newly hired employees are required to attend an in‑person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office as a condition of employment.
