Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 36 hours guaranteed per week | 12-hour shifts | Every other weekend and major holiday required | On-call 1–2 shifts every 6 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate nursing interventions for obstetrical and women's health patients
• Provide inpatient Labor & Delivery nursing care including support for vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, versions, and cerclages
• Perform electronic fetal monitoring, vaginal exams, and care for the mother/fetal dyad throughout active labor and antepartum periods
• Administer medications safely, coordinate care across hospital departments, and act as a patient safety advocate through participation in quality improvement initiatives
• Provide triage, prioritization, stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency management for women of all ages in the obstetrical setting
• Float within the Women's Health unit as needed, supporting antepartum and OB/GYN patient populations

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Virginia or valid compact license
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience; higher acuity experience strongly preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• Circulating experience required
• Fetal monitoring experience required (certification not required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Scrub experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
