Sr. Project Manager - Water

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager - Water to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through completion. This role will oversee project strategy, planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out, ensuring that work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders, establishing clear objectives, accountabilities and communication channels throughout the project lifecycle.


Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed project programmes, budgets, risk registers and delivery plans; monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions where required; managing contracts, variations, claims and commercial performance; and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, environmental requirements and health and safety procedures. You will lead regular project reviews, prepare accurate reports for senior stakeholders, support governance and assurance processes, and build effective relationships with clients, regulators, suppliers, local authorities and community representatives. The role will also involve identifying opportunities to improve processes, promote innovation and share best practice across the wider project portfolio.


Applicants should have substantial experience managing major water, wastewater, utilities or related infrastructure projects, ideally from feasibility and design through construction and handover. A degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline is preferred, together with recognised project management or contract management certification. Strong knowledge of programme controls, cost management, risk management and common forms of construction contract is required. You will be an assured leader with excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, capable of making sound decisions in a complex delivery environment. The successful candidate must be commercially aware, highly organised and committed to achieving safe, sustainable and high-quality outcomes. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project and stakeholder locations may be required.
