Labcorp is seeking a Onsite Lab Support Clerk to join our team in Rockford, IL

Work Schedule : Monday – Friday hours will vary, this is full time position and scheduled for 40 hours per week. 8:00am-5:00pm/5:00pm-1:00am shifts.

Work Locations : Rockford, IL; Sterling, IL; Freeport, IL; Janesville, WI; Itasca, IL- other locations as needed, but will primarily be scheduled for Western Suburbs locations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

• Communicate effectively with client office staff

• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems

• Meet department activity and production goals

• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner 

• Accurately identify and label specimens 

• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities 

• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated

• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year or more of medical or patient facing healthcare experience

Additional Job Standards:

• Comfortable handling biological specimens

• Ability to accurately identify specimens

• Experience working in a team environment

• Strong data entry and organizational skills

• High level of attention to detail

• Proficient in MS Office

• Able to lift up to 40lbs.

• Valid Drivers License and clean driving record

• Be at least 21 years' old

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

The position, Hospital Reference Test Clerk, will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located onsite with one of our client offices.

**Pay Range: $17.75 - $22.50 per hour 

Eligible for 2nd Shift differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data
