Job Summary The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Duties Medical/Surgical Units Emergency Department Critical Care Telemetry Psychiatric Unit Inpatient Surgical Center Childbirth Center Must be able and willing to work in all departments as needed and directed. Reporting Reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Qualifications Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted. Licenses & Credentials Registered Nurse (RN – Massachusetts) BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer De-escalation training required within 60 days of hire or transfer Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Unit‑specific education and experience requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit. Additional Job Details Cooley Dickinson is a hospital dedicated to nursing education and career growth. The Nurse Residency Program and specialty‑specific orientation programs provide new nurses with increased clinical support during orientation.
