QA FAB SUPERINTENDENT B SHIFT

Position Overview Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures pertaining to all plant-wide food safety related activities. Ensure compliance with all FSIS, corporate, and plant quality policies, procedures, and requirements. Provide leadership in initiating root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions. Roles And Responsibilities HACCP monitoring and verification. Update SOPs and forms as necessary from HACCP reassessments, program changes, etc. Perform food safety assessments. Provide production support and decision making for food safety/quality issues. Prepare for audits (customer, BRC, etc.). Support processes and practices necessary to improve food safety. Lead and direct the work of the Fabrication Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisors. Provide functional, technical, and process leadership to the team. Ensure that all process owners and Supervisors develop and maintain their part of the food safety management system. Ensure that FSIS and corporate requirements and expectations are being met or exceeded. Develop strategic plans to achieve goals and targets within deadlines. Promote food safety achievements and performance. Maintain constant awareness of food safety standards. Bring together Production and Quality Assurance staff to formulate and agree on comprehensive food safety procedures. Ensure that audits, procedures, and SOPs are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated, and that modifications are made as necessary. Identify food safety related training needs. Oversee both Fabrication and Trim departments. Requirements Perform audit verifications. Conduct or ensure CCP and prerequisite program training. Verify SOPs. Provide reports and feedback to top managers on the effectiveness and suitability of the food safety systems. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Follow up on corrective actions and preventive measures. Suggest and implement changes in the working conditions and use of equipment to increase food safety. Promptly investigate and distribute details of presumptive positives. Act as liaison between plant and USDA. Interface with other departments to develop a strong food safety awareness culture. Compensation and Benefits Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment. Base salary range of $78,000 - $100,000. This position is eligible to participate in the company’s annual bonus plan; the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
